Head on over to Elimare’s site today to read the latest installment in the Tales of The Gurrier and his enemies, from the poison pen of Red Presley herself. This one is so good I feel it necessary to appropriate it for the canon. I had better crank out another tale soon or they’ll take my gurriering license away.
Elimare’s story is excellent and I may be forced to retire or have some people killed, thin out the competition a little.
It’s an odd feeling when others borrow your characters and create stories of their own with them. A tremendously gratifying experience and also strangely disconcerting. As if you have sent your little creations out into the world and now they are having adventures and getting on with their lives without you.
Of course I have no claims to ownership as all these characters are blatant riffs on my own friends and acquaintances. Their endless patience and indulgence at my acts of defamation and abuse are a constant source of wonder to me.
So I am of the opinion turnabout is fair play and when you are blessed with friends as talented as these well you have to keep your eye on them. Welcome to the serried ranks of the filthies Eli and remember keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
