Nano, Week Four - The End is Nigh

Still battering my way through Nano,  a driven man. Stories and tales thin on the ground for you until next week. Currently at around 35,000 words with one week to go. Not too bad. This years has been both easier and harder. Smaller, leaner, plot but I have had trouble getting juice out of some of the characters.

Last night I wrote a scene where my little gang of mistfits come across Sheela Na Gig working in a Dublin lapdancing club, owned by the Puca, called An Cupan Gruagach (roughly; the hairy cup. My gaelic grammar is not strong). That was fun. The other 34,000 words have been harder, but last night the head lit up and Loki put on his godface and I think I might be getting somewhere.

See you on the other side of November with the return of Flickr Fiction and a new project.

My term break ends in three weeks, so I will actually be participating in Flickr Fiction again. Woot.

  2. Cope Says:

The hell? Clearly I am still mentally broken. My break STARTS in three weeks.

  3. Lucky Says:

I just finished my novel last night. Will you be posting your novel anywhere for others to read?

  4. Donal Says:

Hi Lucky, welcome to the old place. Congratulations on making to the 50k.

The nano novel is not in any state to put up here yet but I intend to keep going and finish it off over the next month or so. Then after some rewriting (lots of rewriting) I will post up the conclusion to the prologue chapters as promised. If you want to take a look at some of it, here are the two sections I have posted for Flickr Fiction

You might want to at least indicate on there somewhere that the works are copyrighted. Just paranoid of me, I know, but … well, as with all works of fiction, somebody might enjoy snatching it for their own.

Dying for the return of Flickr Fiction, as a reader, not as a writer. ;)

It’s nothing to be too concerned about David. A lot of faffing and hot air is blown about over copyright issues. Especially on the web. Once created or put online a work is automatically subject to copyright law, even in the absence of a copyright notice. Besides imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and God help any poor soul who feels the need to be me, they must be desperate.

That said I have been meaning to work out which CC license to apply.
