Moments in Dublin – The Dirty Finger

Dirty Finger

The message scrawled on the door reads:

‘Now my finger is dirty’

and below,

‘So’s your mot

(Searching for a link for Mot, I came upon this lovely gem: ‘A Mouth like a Malahide cod’ – someone who never shuts up.)

Thanks for the link…have the feckin’ book of slang…gift upon our arrival on these shores…handy little online version tho…now I can properly interpret local graffiti…and translate political rhetoric…

Its a bit more original than the usual “wash me I’m dirty/I used to be white”. According to wikedpedia, Mot means God of Death in Ugaritic. Interesting!
