Oliver Postgate 1925-2008
When we are very young there are some seminal influences that will shape the way we see the world. The way we experience wonder and creativity. Oliver Postgate was a man whose work stitched a thread through those early years and whose stories wove a tapestry of wonder for me that is still a tangible thing. Even today, when those familiar opening bars of music play or his marvelous voice brings forth the characters life, that sense of childhood wonder rises up unbidden.
In that moment the child whispers to the man, ‘What stories will we learn today?’
Goodbye Oliver and thank you for the stories.

I never saw his stuff as a kid, not having “the piped” back then. You can’t imagine this kind of stuff being made now– too many focus groups and greedy bastards looking to sell crap to kids.
